RWE buys a heat generating plant in Trzemeszno in Greater Poland district

  • RWE Polska is following up on its investment strategy in Poland
  • RWE Polska Contracting will modernise the heat generation systems at Trzemeszno

 
In line with its long-term investment strategy, RWE is taking over from Cembrit S.A. the Heat and Water Management Plant “Izopol” Sp.z o.o. in Trzemeszno (in northern-west Poland). Investment by RWE will allow the company to grow dynamically and contribute to the development of the local heat distribution network. RWE is planning to modernise the boilers at the Heat and Water Management Plant in Trzemeszno, thus improving the security of heat supply and reducing the CO2 emissions.
In managing the new company RWE will leverage its experience in heat industry, gained both internationally and in Poland. Since three years RWE owns the RWE Polska Contracting company that operates in the heat industry, local cogeneration and energy efficiency market segments.
“We will be implementing the highest technical and organisational standards at the company, that are mandatory at RWE” – said Tadeusz Winiarz, president of RWE Polska Contracting. “We are acquiring a good company on a market with high growth potential. After the investments and modernisation of the plant, the heat energy generation will be more sustainable.” – added Tadeusz Winiarz.

RWE is planning to build state-of-the-art hard-coal fired 800 MW power station by 2015 in Silesia and commission wind farms with total power of 300 MW in Masurian, Pomeranian and Greater Poland regions.
